Cerestar has launched its sixth product-specific website in response to growing demand for technical and regulatory information from customers.
The global manufacturer of starch and starch derivatives says that there has been strong interest Europe-wide in its CActistar functional food ingredient, rich in resistant starch (RS), which was launched last year.
The new website, www.actistar.com, completes Cerestar’s first phase of dedicated product sites and offers technical information on the chemical and physical properties of the starch.
Communications head Denbigh Lloyd said: “Consumption of starch, and particularly resistant starch, has declined in the last 50 years and yet there is now increasing evidence that a higher RS intake may be beneficial for the maintenance of healthy digestion.
“We’ve already found that CActistar has attracted a lot of interest from various European manufacturers developing new functional formulae, especially in the bakery and dairy markets.”
