UK baby food business Heavenly Tasty Organics has extended its push into snacks, a move that has also seen a new name for its namesake brand.
A range of organic snacks – designed for children six months and over – has been developed and now includes three products. They are now sold under the Heavenly brand.
The development of a range of snacks has seen Heavenly stop selling frozen and chilled products. Brand development manager Kristin Jameson said Heavenly would review whether to re-enter those categories next year.
Heavenly's first move into snacks was though Yummy Wafer Wisps, which were test launched through Ocado in April. The products are a combination of fruit and vegetables, blended with ancient grains. They are available in pumpkin and banana; and spinach, apple and kale.
Those snacks have been joined by Happy Halo Bites multi grain snacks and Coconut Squishies smoothies. The snacks are available in two flavours: banana and apple. The smoothies, a mix of organic fruits, coconut milk and lemon juice, come in two variants: banana, apple and mango; and banana, apple and strawberry.
Jameson said: "The need for healthy alternatives to salty, sugars snacks which are so widely available for children today. We felt that parents needed healthy snack options which are low in sugar and salt and so developed our range with these key elements in mind."
