Abdallah Ja’Bari, manager of the UAE company, told the China Economic Information Service (CEIS): “We have built mutual confidence with Haoyue and we hope our cooperation will continue.”
Cong Lianbiao, board director of the Haoyue Group, added that the deal proves the increasing popularity of Chinese beef and mutton in Muslim countries. This is due in part, he says, to the fact that Chinese slaughtering methods follow Islamic doctrines. The cattle must be slaughtered by an Imam, for example, with their heads pointing westwards.
Cong also revealed that the company spent over US$3.7m building a mosque to make prayer convenient for its Muslim employees and clients.
