
General Mills has launched a dinner-focused brand, The Good Table, in the US.
The new product line includes "gourmet-style" sauce and crust mixes for chicken and fish comes in four "restaurant-inspired" flavours, three for chicken – parmesan and herb, southwest tortilla and Thai peanut – and lemon and herb for fish.
The range is free from added monosodium glutamate, artificial flavours, high fructose corn syrup or colours from artificial sources, General Mills said.
"The Good Table line of products illustrates the latest in General Mills' continued innovation in high-quality family food solutions," said Michael Bortinger, associate marketing manager at General Mills. "A flavourful, convenient way to bring the family together, The Good Table deepens our commitment to following our consumers' tastes and interests, offering a nutritious way for consumers to make great-tasting, restaurant-style meals at home."
The products have a suggested retail price of US$2.99, and are available at Walmart stores and select retailers nationwide. Further listings will follow in October.
