In Cal-Maine’s previous financial year, it had booked a charge of $17m after settling an anti-trust lawsuit.

Cal-Maine’s annual net sales were up 11.9% at $1.44bn, which president and CEO Dolph Baker noted was a record for the business.

“These results reflect strong demand for shell eggs throughout the year from all the major market segments including retail, egg product and exports,” Baker said.
