Aryzta has ended production at its baking facility in Export, Pennsylvania, in a move that sees 130 jobs axed.

Speaking to just-food today (2 June), a representative for the firm which specialises in baked goods said production ended effective 27 May.

The firm is shifting production of cookies, muffins and other baked goods to four other US bakeries “for business efficiency”, she said.

“Aryzta places the treatment of our employees a top priority offering severance packages and outplacement services,” she added.

In March this year, Aryzta announced a US$730m spend into the acquisition of two baking facilities in North America.
