US confectionery group Nassau Candy has acquired Chicago-based snack manufacturer Classic Snacks.

Terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Classic Snacks supplies products including as nuts and trail mixes, to US foodservice customers, hotels, sports facilities and private country clubs. The company’s products are kosher certified and use non-GMO ingredients. Classic Snacks also offers a number of USDA certified organic products.

Nassau Candy wants to use Classic Snacks’ presence in the foodservice channel. It will integrate Classic Snacks’ operations into its existing manufacturing, distribution and sales channels, the company said.

“We are very excited to announce the acquisition of Classic Snacks,” Randy Goldbaum, Nassau Candy’s vice president of confectionery sales. “The deal unites Nassau Candy’s leading assortment and capabilities with a tremendous brand in Classic Snacks and its sales presence in the alternative foodservice markets, which we are excited to build upon.”

Nassau Candy has been expanding in snacks through M&A. In September, the group acquired Los Angeles-based Hobbs & Dobbs Novelty Candy Co. and earlier this year it took control of Amuse Mints.
