UK: Asda to create 2000 new jobs in its George clothing department
Supermarket group Asda on Tuesday announced the continued success of its George clothing range will create an extra 2,000 jobs this year. The company, whose US parent Wal-Mart will release its latest financial results later today, said the jobs will be split equally between full-time and temporary roles and will be across its 228 stores that sell the apparel.

It added a new clothing distribution centre near Newcastle-under-Lyme in Staffordshire will create an extra 150 jobs when it opens next month and a further 150 jobs in 2003.
