Greek croissant and confectionery manufacturer Chipita International has revealed that it will officially open its new confectionery plant in St. Petersburg, Russia, on 14 September.

According to Euro2day, Chipita, which owns manufacturing units in Poland, Bulgaria, Romania, Portugal and Egypt, paid €9.1m (US$9m) for the St. Petersburg plant back in January last year


By the time of its opening, Chipita will have invested a total of €10.1m in upgrading the St. Petersburg facility, with the construction of warehouses, production units and two manufacturing lines.
