The Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) and Costco Wholesale are warning consumers with peanut allergies not to consume Kirkland Signature brand Macadamia Nut Cookies “Bis. Noix Macadamia” purchased at the Costco Wholesale warehouse in Chicoutimi, Quebec as they contain peanuts which are not declared on the label.
The cookies are sold as item # 53003 in 1.275 kg packages, UPC 0 00000 53003 3, with pack dates “emballe le” from 02.JN.04 to 02.JN.10. Consumers should note that the label for the affected product is in French only. This product was sold only in the Chicoutimi Costco Wholesale warehouse.
Costco Wholesale has voluntarily recalled this product from the marketplace.
Consumption of this product may cause a serious or life-threatening reaction in persons with allergies to peanuts. There have been no reported illnesses associated with the consumption of this product.
The CFIA is monitoring the effectiveness of the recall.
