Pinnacle Foods is closing the US plant where its Evol frozen foods are made, with the loss of around 85 jobs.
The US group took control of Evol and its plant on Colorado as part of its acquisition last year of local peer Boulder Brands.

Pinnacle said it is relocating Evol manufacturing to an existing site in Fayetteville, Arkansas. The company claimed Evol had “outgrown” its current production location and suggested the Fayetteville facility has the “necessary capacity” to accommodate the business.
Pinnacle anticipates the Evol plant will close in the first quarter of 2017.
“While it’s never an easy decision to close a manufacturing plant, this action will ensure the long-term success of the Evol brand,” said Mike Wittman, Pinnacle EVP and chief supply chain officer. “We are thankful to the employees at the Evol plant and value the many contributions they have made to the business.”
Pinnacle said it is encouraging the staff at the Denver site to apply for other positions within the Pinnacle group.

By GlobalDataPinnacle also revealed it plans to invest in the Fayetteville facility to upgrade existing manufacturing and expects to hire approximately 25 new full-time employees to support the added capacity.
