A merger between French co-ops Terrena, Terrena Poitou and CAM has been backed by the business’ members.
Cereals co-op Terrena Poitou and CAM – a co-op supplying crops, animal nutrition products and providing agricultural distribution services – were already “autonomous” members of the Terrena co-op but, this summer, the three entities put forward plans for a full merger.

The transaction, becomes effective on 1 January, was approved at member meetings last week, Terrena said.
Hubert Garaud, Terrena’s president, said: “Terrena takes another step in its desire to adapt its model to a changing agricultural environment while reaffirming its strong commitment to cooperative values.”
Pointing to trends including digitisation and traceability, he added: Today, we must go even further and initiate a transformation of our cooperative model so that it is more resilient and responds to the major challenges of transforming the agricultural world.”
The name of the new entity will Terrena and its headquarters will be in Ancenis in western France.
