Reports in Ireland suggest the country’s Nomadic Dairy has been put up for sale by its owner, Donegal Investment Group.

According to The Irish Independent newspaper a corporate finance adviser has been appointed by Dublin-based Donegal to lead the disposal of the business, which makes a variety of yogurt products.

The newspaper quotes Donegal managing director Ian Ireland telling sister paper The Sunday Independent preliminary discussions have been held with a number of suitors and an information pack is to be sent to potential buyers in the coming weeks.

It points out Mr Ireland has led a strategy that has seen the company dispose of a number of assets, across a wide variety of sectors, to focus on its seed potato business, Nomadic and an animal feed business.

The newspaper reports the potential sale of Nomadic has come about after a minority shareholder triggered his right to seek an exit.

Donegal-based Nomadic Dairy has produced various yogurts and yogurt drink products in Ireland for the last 25 years. More recently it has expanded into products such as lassi, chai, labneh and museli.
