Miller will work directly with Dr. Rhona Applebaum, executive VP, scientific and regulatory affairs, and with NFPA’s Security Committee on a variety of security-related projects.

“Food security has become a priority issue for NFPA and its members,” said Dr. Applebaum.

“Miller is well-known and respected by NFPA member companies, many of whom worked with him in his former role as VP of the Food Marketing Institute’s (FMI) Loss Prevention Services Department.”

Miller was with the FMI from 1987 until 2002. During that time, he coordinated FMI’s initiatives pertaining to loss prevention in supermarkets and warehouses. He also helped develop FMI’s regulatory compliance programmes relating to loss prevention, hazardous substances and other areas.
