Russian confectionery groups Krasny Oktyabr have reported sales worth 1.5bn rubles (US$47.5m) in the first half of 2002.

The group reported production up 35% to 41,700 tons. Together with Rot-Front, Krasny Oktyabr will become the core of the confectionery holding set up by Gosinkor-holding.
The two companies have already launched a centralised marketing and advertising campaign, and have already started auditing existing brands while honing the product mix. They are also looking to improve terms with supplier networks and purchasing streams.
