The factory will have an area of about 15,000 sq m. Construction work has already started and is scheduled to finish in June 2021.

Noel Alimentaria said the new plant, the sixth that it fully owns, will create 200 jobs and provide a “great boost for its fresh produce division”.

It added: “Thanks to this action, the company will be able to promote the manufacture of fresh products with high added value, allowing it to gain greater vertical integration in the sector and have greater control of the supply chain.

“This step forward will allow Noel to continue strengthening its presence in Spain, consolidate itself in the more than 60 countries where it is already present and enter new markets.”

When the new plant is built, the global fresh unit of the company will have a total workforce of 500 workers, divided between two factories.

Noel Alimentaria said the new factory will be equipped with the latest production technologies and will have “all the necessary measures and protocols to guarantee the maximum quality and food safety of products”.

Earlier this month, the company broadened its range of meat-free products, announcing the development of more items sold under the Nature sub-brand.
