Lianhua plans to sell its goods in Europe and buy European products to sell in China, according to company executive Richard Zhou.

“We should get a licence for an office in one to two months, and for a supermarket perhaps before the end of this year,” Zhou, a spokesman for Lianhua’s planned European office, told Reuters.

Zhou said Lianhua would seek to tie up French retailer Carrefour or another major European operator.
