A nutritionist from the Institute sampled the 4.8 ounce serving of potato wedges that comes with the chain’s new Kids Laptop Pack.

“The Colonel says each small bag of contains a total of 280 calories,” said the Insitute, “so we sent ten orders from KFC restaurants in New York and New Jersey to a lab for testing. What we found: The standard 4.8-ounce serving averaged 358 calories.”

Larger-than-standard portions, said the Institute, hold even more extra calories and fat counts. For example, while the chain says that every serving of Colonel’s Crispy Strips contains 4.1 ounces of chicken and 300 calories, Good Housing tests show that “the average is 5.8 ounces and 458 calories”.

Furthermore, the Institute claims that a massive 80% of the KFC food it sampled contained larger portion sizes, or more calories, than the company claimed.
