Food Attraction, a UK-based manufacturer of naan bread-filled snacks, has expanded production capacity and plans to take on more staff due to growth in its Jake & Nayns’ brand.

Based in Leicester, in the English Midlands, Food Attraction has more than doubled capacity with the help of a commercial mortgage from lender HSBC, funding that has enabled the business to purchase an additional 10,000 square foot of manufacturing space.

The family-run firm was founded in 1999 by brothers Jake and Naynesh Karia and supplies Sainsbury’s and The Co-op with its range of on-the-go naan bread snacks under the Jake & Nayns’ brand.

Last year, Food Attraction said it grew by 57% year-on-year and is planning to employ 150 more workers over the next three years and “increase turnover significantly”. The company currently employs 105 people.

The spokesperson would not disclose Food Attraction’s turnover, but said it is a “multi-million pound” business, which is more commonly known in the trade and among consumers as Jake & Nayns.

Managing director Jake Karia said in a statement: “We’re extremely proud of the fact that we’ve managed to retain the family feel of the business at the same time as experiencing huge growth. The additional manufacturing space will help us increase production capabilities and allow us to meet the rising demand for our products.”
