Finnish retailer Kesko has opened its first Citymarket supermarket in the Estonian capital of Tallinn.

Kesko has already opened a Citymarket outlet in Parnu, and will spread the format out to other towns over coming months, including Tartu. The company is also planning to open a Hyper-Citymarket and a Food-Citymarket in Tallinn next year.
Kesko already operates 42 outlets under the Saastumarket discount fascia in Estonia. The company reported turnover worth EeK1.13bn (US$71.4m) in the first half of 2002.
