Wholebake, a UK manufacturer of branded and white label energy bars, has acquired local snacks brand Bounce for an undisclosed sum.

Corwen, North Wales-based Wholebake manufactures gluten-free snacks in categories such as vegan, sports nutrition and toddler snacking on a contract basis. The company also owns the seed and nut bar brand Nine and the flapjack brand Brynmor. It operates from two production sites in North Wales.

Bounce Foods, based in Guildford in southern England, was set up by husband and wife team Paula and Andy Hannagan in 2004 and makes Bounce-branded energy bars, balls and bites. In the UK, the products can be found at UK grocers including Tesco, Sainsbury’s and Asda. The company also has offices in Australia, Canada and the US.

Simon Faithfull, CEO at Wholebake, said: “We are really excited about the acquisition of the Bounce brand. It is a unique stand-out product in an expanding market, offering great taste and balanced nutrition to consumers, and we will be looking to invest in marketing and sales to support its growth.”
