Litehouse today (23 May) announced the acquisition of fellow US condiments supplier Sky Valley Foods, a move to expand its presence into another part of the store.

Idaho-based Litehouse focuses on chilled products, marketing a range of condiments and cheese SKUs. Sky Valley Foods focuses on organic, shelf-stable condiments, dressings and sauces that are sold under its namesake and Organicville brands.

Litehouse said it would buy “substantially all of the assets of Sky Valley Foods” from 1 June. Financial details were not disclosed.

“For some time Litehouse has been looking to offer products that could be sold in the center aisles of the grocery store. Before moving forward, we needed to ensure that the products we brought to market had the same high quality standards and reliance on real ingredients as our core Litehouse products,” Kelly Prior, Litehouse’s president said. “As we looked at Sky Valley Foods and their commitment to real food, real ingredients and better quality, we found great synergies.”

Rachel Kruse, who set up Sky Valley Foods in x, will join Litehouse “to help facilitate the strategy and direction of the Organicville and Sky Valley brands and products”, the statement announcing the deal read.

Through the acquisition, Litehouse will take on a 132,000 sq. ft. manufacturing facility in Danville, Virginia.
