One of Australia’s largest online grocery retailers, ShopFast, is to trial home barcode scanners that it thinks could replace handwritten shopping lists.

Using their home scanners, the testers will scan items as they run out of them and can then use their home computer to transfer their shopping list to the ShopFast website.

ShopFast marketing director Rob Fitzpatrick thinks handwritten lists or trying to remember a list will become things of the past.

“All you need do is scan a product as you finish it and your hand-held scanner stores that product information for you,” Fitzpatrick was quoted as saying by the Sunday Mail.
