The company also plans to open hypermarkets in Ruzomberok and Bardejov by the end of the year, bringing the total number of Ahold’s Hypernova hypermarkets in Slovakia to thirteen.


From January 2003, Ahold Retail Slovakia is to merge with Royal Ahold subsidiaries in the Czech Republic and Poland to form Ahold Central Europe, which will be controlled from Prague.
