With a hamburger, cheeseburger, or Chicken Tenders Kids Meal, children can now choose a side of either fries or Mott’s Strawberry Flavoured Applesauce. There are also additional beverage options of milk or Minute Maid Apple Juice.
“These new offerings help to balance Kids Meals at Burger King restaurants by providing extra vitamins and minerals necessary for growing children,” the company said.
Burger King said each 4oz. container of Strawberry Flavoured Applesauce meets the guidelines for one serving of fruit and contains 90 calories and 100% of the Daily Value (DV) of vitamin C.
The new offerings are the latest in a string of healthier product launches by fastfood chains as they seek to boost sales amid increasing concerns about obesity and fend off criticism of their traditionally unhealthy fare.
