Mexican retailer Wal-Mart de Mexico (Walmex) has said its November same-store sales slid 0.6% in real terms compared with the year-ago period.
Walmex reported total sales for November of 11.97bn pesos (US$1.05bn), up 6.5% from November 2003, reported Reuters.
Analysts pointed to the negative calendar effect that meant November 2004 had one less weekend than November 2003.
Walmex, which is majority owned by US retail giant Wal-Mart, operates 690 stores and restaurants in Mexico and opened 19 new outlets in November and the first part of December.
