The chief executive of ADM Londis, which owns the Londis and Londis Topshop convenience store chains, has resigned.

The company said Michael Irwin, who had worked for ADM Londis for five years having joined the company from Irish retailer Dunnes Stores, had left to pursue other business interests, reported the Business and Finance Daily News Service.

The chief executive post will now be split between Simon Healy, head of the Londis Topshop forecourt division, and senior director Paddy McGarry.

ADM Londis, a wholesale distributor that also operates 260 convenience stores in Ireland, hopes to open a further 60 stores this year and increase its annual turnover to more than €300m (US$325.7m).
