The idea is to create an EU-wide approach to dietary advice, based on hard science.


EFSA has released a number of discussion papers, including one from the UK Food Standards Agency warning most Britons eat too little fish, especially oily fish, which can cut cardiovascular disease and boost foetal health. However, considering dioxin contamination, it suggests girls and pre-menopausal women eat less (one to two servings of oily fish a week) than other adults, who should eat between one and four portions.
