Israel-based food technology company Solbar Industries has announced that it has decided to set up a food analysis subsidiary named NutriCognia.

NutriCognia will initially market systems for sugar analysis to manufactures in key market segments: baby food, dairy products, beverages, protein-rich health foods and probiotic bacteria enriched products.
The company will use sugar analysis technology developed by Procognia. Dr Ofer Markman, the inventor of the technology, will join the new venture as a chief scientific officer.
“Potential applications for NutriCognia’s glycoanalysis system include food safety and quality control, process control, competitor product analysis and reverse engineering and design of new products,” said Solbar’s marketing director, Gary Brenner, who will lead the global marketing campaign of the new product.
