Associated British Foods-owned bread brand Kingsmill is set to return to Tesco shelves, after the UK's largest retailer delisted the brand in March.

"Allied Bakeries is pleased to confirm that Tesco will reintroduce Kingsmill 50/50 and No Crusts to the majority of their stores," a spokesperson for Allied Bakeries, ABF's bread unit, told just-food. "Both product lines are a firm favourite with consumers, and we are delighted to see them being offered as a choice for Tesco shoppers once again."

Tesco removed Kingsmill from all its stores and online in March as part of its drive to reduce the number of lower volume SKUs it carries.

The spokesperson did not comment on whether Kingsmill had regained its listing by lowering prices for Tesco and did not provide details of the commercial arrangement.
