French retailer Système U has entered Andorra through the acquisition of two former Casino-owned Monoprix stores.
The retailer said it has “entered a new stage of development” with the move, which will see two stores open under the Super U and U Express banners.

The Super U store will cover an area of 2,200 sq metres and will be located in downtown Andorra La Vella, close to the French border. The U Express store of the same size will also be located in the city.
The retailer said the move “demonstrates the attractiveness of the brand U”, which it says meets the expectations of the consumer, who is looking for nearby stores and better prices.
