Supermarkets fell victim to looters during the recent unrest in Argentina. Stores belonging to French giant Carrefour were the main victim, while compatriots Casino Guichard Perrachon and Auchan also suffered.
Carrefour has launched ambitious expansion plans in Latin America in recent years and now accounts for 30% of the Argentine supermarket sector.
