Fastfood chain Burger King has named Peter Tan, formerly McDonalds president of greater China, as senior vice president and president, Asia Pacific.

He will report to Greg Brenneman, chairman and CEO of Burger King Corporation, and be part of the company’s global executive team, Burger King said. He will be based at the company’s Asia headquarters in Singapore.


Tan joins Burger King Corporation from the McDonald’s Corporation where he was a corporate senior vice president and president of greater China, a position that included Hong Kong, Taiwan and Macau and more than 1,250 restaurants. Tan was responsible for strategic growth of the business and management of all key functions in the region.

He brings a wealth of industry- and region-specific expertise to our Asia Pacific operations,” said Brenneman. “As we continue to successfully execute our Go Forward Plan, we are confident that the Asian market is a tremendous opportunity for our business. Peter has the expertise, insights and energy to take us to the next level of success.”
