Carrefour has publicly refuted reports it plans to close any outlets in Malaysia and Singapore.
The statement follows speculation earlier this week that the world’s second-largest retailer is looking to sell its operations in Malaysia, Singapore and Thailand.

Carrefour added that it has opened four new hypermarkets in Malaysia during 2010 and four more are set to be opened by the end of the year.
However, the retailer made no mention of its Thailand operations, which have been linked to Big C Supercenter and Tesco.
