Tesco has revealed that its sales in South Korea have dipped in recent weeks, against growth in both China and Malaysia.
The UK retail giant made the disclosure this morning (10 November) ahead of an analyst and investor trip to the three countries this week.
Tesco said like-for-like sales in South Korea were down 2% in the ten weeks to 1 November. The figure was adjusted for the different timing of the local Chuseok festival this year.
In September, Tesco said sales in South Korea had remained flat during the first half of its fiscal year.
In China, meanwhile, Tesco said like-for-like sales were up 8%, compared to growth of 14% for the first half of its fiscal year.
