The appointment of Phillips means Jess Gill, general manager of marketing for Woolworths’ supermarket brand, has moved to a new “strategic” role director, customer experience.
Woolworths said Gill’s responsibilities would include leading the development of the retailer’s brand strategy and its format development, including store design and layout.
The grocer, Australia’s largest retailer, added: “Tony will build on the foundation laid by Jess and will further enhance our leading position on price, fresh food and inspiring a healthier Australia while strengthening the capability of the marketing team.”
