Production at McCain Foods’ manufacturing site in the Australian state of Victoria has returned to normal after staff at the plant were ordered to abandon their strike action by Australia’s workplace tribunal.
Fair Works Australia requested that workers at McCain’s Victoria plant quit their strike action earlier this week.

The workers, represented by Australian Manufacturing Workers’ Union (AMWU), went on strike over a disagreement with the company on how the food maker arranges time off. The union and company had been in negotiations to settle the dispute since December.
“Workers were ordered back to work yesterday (14 April) and production is also back to normal. The company will continue negotiations with the AMWU over flexibility of restored day off,” a spokesperson for the company told just-food.
Union officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment.
