At the twelfth meeting of the Australia and New Zealand Food Regulation Ministerial Council, held in Adelaide today (24 October), it was agreed in principle to commission an independent, comprehensive review of food labelling law and policy.


The Ministerial Council also requested an investigation on whether a front-of-pack labelling scheme would be an effective health strategy.


An independent expert panel will undertake the review, the Ministerial Council said.
