Biotech firm Bayer Crop Science is reported to have pulled out of planned crop trials of genetically modified canola in New South Wales this year.

The move follows a recent decision from US-based rival Monsanto to withdraw from GM canola trials in the state this year.
The agriculture minister for New South Wales, Ian Macdonald, said Bayer had said it had abandoned the planned trials because of poor seasonal conditions, reported the Australian Broadcasting Corporation.
