AUSTRALIA: Coles Myer sales rise in second quarter
Sales at supermarket group Coles Myer rose to AU$9.8 billion in the quarter to 23 January from $8.6 billion in the same period a year earlier. Sales for the first half of the company’s financial year were up 17% at $18.344 million.

“Coles Myer has continued to perform strongly through the first half, including the important Christmas and New Year trading periods,” said CEO John Fletcher.
The company said its new store programme had continued to plan with a further 20 new supermarkets and 10 liquor outlets opened in the half.
