AUSTRALIA: Cooler summer season prompts greater salmon catch
Australian salmon producers have revealed that they are expected high production rates for the 2001-2002 summer season, because of the unseasonably cool weather. The cooler weather off the coast of southern Australia has enabled the fish to grow to larger sizes than normal, as cooler water temperatures inhibit the growth of parasites and other diseases.
