The Australian Dental Association seized the opportunity presented by Valentine’s Day yesterday to issue a message for chocolate lovers around the world. Eating chocolates in one session, rather than spreading it out over time, reduced the risk of dental problems, the association said.

David Miles, the ADA’s state president, stressed that chocolates are frowned upon by dentists for promoting tooth decay. However, if they must be eaten, they are least damaging if consumed in one session – presumably followed up with a session with a toothbrush.
