The Australian Takeovers Panel has ruled that Australian food company Goodman Fielder must provide its shareholders with details of any rival bids to the hostile takeover bid from New Zealand spice maker Burns Philp.

The panel also denied Goodman’s application to have the hostile offer ruled “unacceptable” on grounds relating to proposals to finance the bid, reported the Australian.
