Nippon is to increase the processing capacity of its Oakey abattoir from 1000 head of cattle per day to 2000, making it the second-largest meat processing facility in Queensland, reported ABC News.
Local mayor Peter Taylor said the proposed expansion is a vote of confidence in the region’s cattle industry.
