AUSTRALIA: Lamb sold with used Band-Aids leads supermarket to fine
A Bi-Lo supermarket in Darwin has received fines totalling more than A$2,000 (US$1,000) after it admitted to selling lamb chops in packaging containing two used plasters. In a case that appeared in Darwin Magistrates Court earlier today [Thursday], the store was also found guilty of selling silverside meat containing a metal tooth from its in-house tenderiser.

In a case that appeared in Darwin Magistrates Court earlier today [Thursday], the store was also found guilty of selling silverside meat containing a metal tooth from its in-house tenderiser.
Magistrate Alisdair McGregor ruled that Bi-Lo should be fined a total of A$2,150. He also awarded the Health Department costs of A$1,400.
