Len Bleasel, former CEO of the Australian Gas Light Co (AGL), has been appointed to the board of Perth-based supermarket group Foodland Associated Ltd.
Foodland chairman Don Humphreys said that the group welcomed Bleasel, and looked forward to the contribution he will make to the company’s ongoing progress.
Foodland, which acquired 36 Franklins stores in Queensland and northern New South Wales last year, is due to appear before the Privy Council later this month to appeal the decision of the NZ Court of Appeal to block its buyout of rival supermarket operator Woolworths NZ.
