FoodWatch is a newsletter that aims to publicise the food monitoring and surveillance work undertaken by food regulators throughout Australia and New Zealand and to provide information on related issues eg food recalls.  FoodWatch is an initiative of the Bi-National Surveillance and Enforcement Working Group which is coordinated by ANZFA.


FoodWatch will initially be published twice yearly on the website and an email has be sent to everyone on our email list directing recipients to the website and advising of the content of the edition. The FoodWatch email list is based on the food safety database and currently numbers over 2000 entries.


The Spring 2001 edition includes articles on:



  • the recent soy sauce controversy
  • food recalls in Australia
  • the role of the AQIS in food monitoring

Also included in this edition is a survey special – How Safe are Soft, Chilled Noodles?
