Parmalat Australia, a division of troubled Italian food group Parmalat, has said it is to close its facility in Warwick, Queensland, in the next six months.
The company said the facility, which makes soft cheese and butter, has high production costs for just a small volume of specialty products, reported Asia Pulse. Around 44 jobs will go as a result of the closure.
Parmalat Australia said it would continue to collect milk from local farmers, but this will now be processed at the company’s Labrador plant.
