The Peanut Company of Australia (PCA) claims that the results of a survey it recently commissioned prove that it has growing support from Buderim Ginger’s shareholders in its bid for representation on the company’s board.

Ray Magill, chairman of the privately owned PCA, is preparing to stand for one of the four non-executive director places on the Buderim Ginger board at its AGM on 30 April.

According to the ACNielsen poll, during which 312 shareholders were contacted by telephone on 13 and 14 April, many were aware of PCA’s success and reputation.

Magill told the Associated Press: “This figure is very encouraging because it shows Buderim Ginger shareholders acknowledged the PCA’s status as a low cost producer and world leader in processing technology.

“These are qualities the Buderim Ginger board needs, to turn around the company’s poor financial performance.”
