The Queensland Consumers’ Association has urged the Australian Competition & Consumer Commission (ACCC) to investigate food prices in Brisbane after a recent survey claimed that grocery prices have increased by an average of 2.85% since the sale of the Franklin’s chain.

Nearly one third of Franklin’s 287 Australian stores were sold off to the major grocery chain Woolworths, and concerns now exist that the distribution of the stores has reduced competition in the supermarket sector.
